| Mennowood staff members realize that preservation
of human dignity may be as important as the maintenance of good health.
In the Assisted Living building, licensed nurses and certified
nursing assistants supervise residents in one and two-room apartments.
Each of the 71 suites is fully carpeted, with a private bathroom and
kitchenette. The spacious, modern building was completed in 1997.

Specialized care at Mennowood operates on the premise that memory disorders are diseases of the mind, not the spirit. Older adults with cognitive impairment live in 15 specially designated memory support apartments called “Comfort Cove,” in a safe, secured environment. The staff help residents with achievement-oriented activities developed for various stages of dementia.

For those who need temporary personal attention, Mennowood provides specialized
Respite Care. Short-term residents in these rooms may be recuperating
after a medical procedure or simply staying for a period of time while
their caregivers are away. Respite Care is located in the Assisted
Living area and supervised by licensed nurses.
